Every local body shall be responsible for the development and setting up of infrastructure for segregation, collection, storage,transportation, processing and disposal of the plastic waste either on its own or by engaging agencies or producers.Each Producer, Brand Owner, recycler and Manufacturer of plastic needs to acquire an registration from the State Pollution Control Board or the Pollution Control Committee of the Union Territory concerned.
The Plastic Waste Management rules apply to each waste generator, neighborhood body, Gram Panchayat, maker, Importers and maker of Plastic Materials.
