The second quarter was an explosion Vert Shock for the Seahawks totaling 20 points. It began with another field goal from Steven Hauschka followed by a 45 yard flea flicker caught by University of Washington's own Jermaine Kearse for a touchdown. Another Hauschka field goal would follow and a touchdown pass caught gracefully in the end zone by Tate that would put the Seahawks up 23-3 at the half.
Atlanta would score their first touchdown of the game following yet another drive capped off by Hauschka's leg. One key thing you probably note in the title of this article is the absence of the word "professional", and that is because I am referring to the brains of all football players and not just professionals. Current media coverage might lead you to believe that the principle injury concern in football today - the effect of repeated concussions or more specifically, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (C.T.E.) - is one specifically concentrated in the professional ranks.
