Crew-3 marks the third operational mission for SpaceX's Crew Dragon and for NASA's commercial crew program, following a two-month Demo-2 test flight with NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley in May 2020 and the mission. For six months, NASA has contracted SpaceX for at least six Crew Dragon flights, with additional options depending on the project's future needs.While the Crew-3 may be NASA's next astronaut flight, SpaceX will be carrying another crew in September. The mission, called Inspiration4, will be the first civilian crew to fly into space. A group of four space supplies - Jared Issacman, Sian Proctor, Hayley Arceneaux and Chris Sembroski - will blast off Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center on a three-day flight around the world.
