Frankly it holds up as a fantastic MMO

  • Btw if someone wants to know why it wasn't localized earlier that's actually mostly Gearbox's fault again **** you Randy: PSO2's original projected western localization and maintenance budget was drafted from projected Colonial Marines earnings, which ought to have been a Slam Dunk given the value of the Aliens new - Of course Gearbox found a way to Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta **** up that. That was a bomb so bad that Sega of America needed to go into Austerity Mode and lay off pretty much all of their Localization staff, not just indefinitely delay PSO2. Of which they wouldn't recover until Sega purchased Atlus and'd Atlus USA effectively replace all that laid off employees.

Frankly it holds up as a fantastic MMO. Due to the arcade / game tieins it's been huge in Japan, and still holds this up much following release. That's why I've always enjoyed the first and played it on a free server until a few years ago. There is a surprising number of mechanical skill involved. I really don't understand anything regarding PSO2, however, and it might be completely different for everybody I know.Played equally, played first for countless hours. It is certainly quicker in PSO2, however I do believe it feels like a direct update to PSO (which seems like it ought to be obvious, I know.) It does things with maps that are insistent more weapons enemies ect. And battle has verticality for it. I personally enjoy it and would recommend giving it a go.

If it appears generic, it's simply because a lot of other show have copied it by this stage. There is elements of heaps of string in there, and PSO/PSO2 did it initially. A lot of western players just don't recognize it because they have the games, but not PSO. It might appear shallow at first, however it goes surprisingly deep and wide once you get into it. Which is what you'd need any MMO to do rather than ditch you straight into it.No other MMO will skill-based action combat better. Item is Monster Hunter, which does not really get too heavy into the character development systems most MMOs thrive on. Should you prefer to dodge skillfully, see enemy tells, learn boss fights, get gear, update it, and GRIND until your eyeballs bleed, then it is well worth a try. If you're a lover of Warframe, PSO2 does fashion as an endgame better, if you're not fond of this equipment grind.

I'll put it this way: I'm not a huge MMO gamer, however, the idea has always appealed to buy PSO2 Meseta me personally. After trying probably dozens of MMOs from the most mainstream to the most market, PSO2 is the only one that stuck with me. And I enjoy it enough that even after playing the JP server for 2+ years, I am taking a break since I look forward to starting over on the NA server. It just feels really good to perform with. The F2P mechanisms are well balanced so that I never felt forced to spend money, but I did because I wanted to support Phantasy Star Online 2.
