The clear solution to this is to permitting players to carry over items and not levels/equipment, but that's dev time they might not be willing to put in.
The fan patch overlooks some bits and pieces mid to late tutorials. I had no clue when I first started because not one of its tutorials were interpreted how to utilize mechs. It's mostly stuff that older players will not notice (since they don't desire tutorials), but players who finally don't get to end game won't see (tutorials which seem after players who weren't interested in Phantasy Star Online 2 stopped playing). It is just a continuing fan translation project's weakness: sometimes things slide, and they need to prioritize what to work on next.
