The majority of us have limited time to play and'restarting' in a seasonal game style is not justifiable to those who have limited time, while they could use that opportunity to level their principal account. If they can use that time in an exciting new sport mode that advances their main account in some manner, that RuneScape gold would be perfect. If you do not do the brand new game style could be made just for the hardcore gamers. Streamers and guys who have nothing left to play for on their own mains.
Can you provide any information that would suggest the devs working on RuneScapemode are more beneficial to RuneScape by working on this project compared to RuneScape? I'm not certain why any gamers would be interested in taking any number of devs away RuneScape to be set aside for any project that does not help RuneScapeplay of OSRS in almost any capacity. Additionally, you need this project to be cosmetics' major incentive? Anybody who does not have 6+ hours to play/day will not give a crap about the HiScores, also if Trouble Brewing is proof of anything, it's that cosmetics do not bring about players. So I really don't know how precisely you expect this endeavor to work out at all.
Also, if this does not work out, how do you expect to remove RuneScapemode out of RuneScape? You are adding tradeable uniques which may only be obtained without trading by enjoying RuneScapemode, therefore removing it would really be unjust to ironmen and could make an RS3 Rare Item situation. Can you just mass drop the reward cosmetics like you do after removing RuneScapemode? You're screwing everybody that holds the 18, Should you make them easy to obtain. This is a terrible idea. You're setting yourselves up for a nightmare.
I see it as them attempting to make a new minigame. Sure it might not be popular at the long term but fresh minigames have always been things that come to RuneScape so I would rather they attempt. Hell who knows, maybe this becomes the initial big minigame of osrs that is not popular solely due to RuneScape 2007 gold bis items or xp. It's not a minigame though, it is a gamemode and will have its own servers. A minigame is a game interior of RuneScape, that is not exactly what this is. It is dead man mode, maybe not castle wars.
