In NA, the loot boxes possess a far more diluted pool (to compensate for the 8 years maybe?) Another distinction is that NA has a battle pass system. Cosmetics obtained from Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta the battle pass are not tradeable, and it's too early to tell if they'll ever release tradeable versions of those makeup. SG is comparable, except with a rather competitive pricing it seems, with buys restricted to one/account, then being personality bound. For some reason however, NA has bundles, instead of individual items in JP, which means you're going to have to purchase.
Compared to JP, NA is less friendly to full F2P, and much worse for whales, but better for people who purchase the premium track battle pass. NA also has a more inaccessible Star Gem shop, which was originally designed for the F2P players at the first place. If I didn't have fun on it I wouldn't of put so much time into it, I can say that for a complete fact. You can still acquire uncommon drop boosts, money increase, exp boosts that do impact Phantasy Star Online 2 in its manner as far as the P2W argument goes. As far as what's really P2W and what isn't, I'm not here to talk about that or have ever been concerned with the definition of'P2W'.
When something is fun, play it, if it is not, then don't. I have friends that had the gear at given points and they never paid a dime. You're not assumed to have the ability to see your entire damage (or other players) making it more casual and much more interesting in my view.
So damage wasn't a problem before as it was just fun flying around and kicking the shit out of critters, needless to state using 3rd party apps to find the damage is 100 percent what ruined Phantasy Star Online 2 for me.
