Holstein Breed Origins
Talking about the origins of the Holstein cattle breed, then it originated in Europe. The main historical development of this breed occurred in what is now the Netherlands and more specifically in the two northern provinces of North Holland and Friesland.
The Vietnam Friesian cow livestock were the black animals and white animals of the Batavians and Friesians. Moreover, the Holsteins were bred and strictly culled to obtain animals that would make the best use of grass, the area's most abundant resource. The intermingling of these forms of livestock evolves into an efficient, high-producing dairy cow.
American Imports - After the settlement of the new era, markets began to develop for milk production in the US. Moreover, the dairy cattle imports Vietnam and dairy breeders turned to Holland for their seed stock. A breeder based in Massachusetts bought a cattle that had furnished the ship's crew with fresh milk during the voyage. After its huge production, various other breeders soon joined the breed to establish Holsteins in America.
This has led to significant growth in imports of these forms of livestock at a rapid rate. Since then the US began to develop their breeds and there was enough interest among Holstein breeders to form associations for the recording of pedigrees and maintenance of herdbooks.
This sort of mutual association merged to found the Holstein-Friesian Association of America, the Holstein Association. If we talk about the characteristics of Holsteins, they are most recognized by their distinctive color markings and outstanding milk production.
Physical Characteristics
The Vietnam Holstein Friesian cattle livestock is large animals with color patterns of black and white. Moreover, a healthy Holstein calf weighs 90 pounds or more at birth and a mature Holstein cow weighs more pounds and is very tall at the shoulder. In addition to that, the Holstein heifers can be bred for 15 months of age, when they weigh about 800 pounds. It is desirable to have Holstein females calve for the first time between 23 and 26 months of age. Holstein's gestation is approximately nine months.
While some cows may live considerably longer, the normal productive life of a Holstein is six years. These wonderful sources have significantly enhanced livestock export services in Vietnam . And as for the milk is concerned, the average production for all the Holsteins which are enrolled in the official US production-testing programs yielded huge quantities of milk per year.
