My mother is Christian and my father is Hindu, so I’ve been brought up celebrating the festivals of both religions. Although we love all festivals in India, Christmas is taken very seriously at our home.
This is because it’s the time when every person of our family (no matter where they are) have to visit home. This is one tradition that our family has followed strictly since my mom and dad got married. This time I was already at home a week before Christmas to help my mom with preparations. For this Christmas, I even bought the best Bluetooth speaker with FM radio in India so that we can enjoy the celebrations with jovial music. The best part of this speaker is that it’s very lightweight and shaped like a disco ball. I hung it on the Christmas tree as a decor element. This year’s celebrations were even more special because my brother was also coming from London after two years. Finally, on the day of Christmas when everyone arrived, we started opening our gifts, had dinner, and played music on the speaker.
We all were happy, singing songs and trying to make the most of the moment, as the next day my brother had to leave for London. I’m already missing those happy vibes and can’t wait for the next time when we’ll be together again.
