I had the 2K21 MT chance to jump Damian Lillard, with cover athlete on a Zoom phone, a few weeks ago. He had a ton of great feedback and ideas and is a 2K gamer that is massive. But among the challenges that we face is striking the right balance between creating a game that's fun and enjoyable for a broad range of fans and simulating real life. That's where the debate on Ability Gap vs. Accessibility comes into play. The goal we take for is to make a game that's simple to pick up and perform for new consumers while also providing enough of a skill gap for veteran users to actually showcase their talent. 1 way we set out to accomplish that was through construction a solid pair of sliders and carefully mapping the appropriate settings to all the various modes in our game.
So whether it's your first time playing against the CPU at Quick Play, messing around with your buddies in the Park, or fighting at a high stakes Ante Up or aggressive Pro-Am game, there is a vast assortment of gameplay experiences and definitely something for everyone in NBA 2K21. So to sum up this segment, I do not really have a fancy rear of the box marketing name for the work that went into gameplay balance and"fun-ifying" that the on-court experience, but I'm pretty certain that longtime lovers of 2K basketball will soon notice the improvements and love what the group was able to achieve.
The Pro Stick was a staple of 2K basketball for the most part now, and for decades, has largely gone unchanged. For NBA 2K21, we watched this to freshen up the game on the offensive end. In games, the Guru Stick could be held by you in any way. This was restricting us from using the right rod as a fully featured dribble stick. So this year, we're creating a fairly significant change to how the Pro Stick works. With this shift, we have managed to greatly expand the dribble move arsenal and provide you access to more motions at a more intuitive control scheme.
After a game or two, it will feel instant nature and will have you busting ankles very quickly! Together with the remap, the moves themselves happen to be overhauled to be significantly more responsive and chain-able. Street moves are moved into a tap of the left trigger also, so that you won't be shooting off them by accident when you are breaking down defenders at the Park. And for the NBA size-ups, we've added several new signatures like Harden's around the leg dribble, a new version of Kobe's dancing, and Durant's buy mt patented hesi cross.
