The reasons for cloning the hard disk are many, all fundamental and are explained in detail on this page.
The main reason however remains to preserve the original disk as at the moment the only copy of the data is inside.
To do this, it is important to understand that the disk must be kept on for as short a time as possible and that while the station is being prepared for data recovery, it must be ABSOLUTELY OFF.
WARNING! If the disc has fallen or is making noises you have never heard or noticed before, no guide should be followed !!! Use your brain and realize that the only thing that can make noise is the rubbing or banging of the heads or their supports against "something" ... yes but what?
