How to write an English essay (discussion essay)

  •  How to write an English essay (discussion essay)

If you don't understand this structure and the role of each paragraph, it will be a completely useless sentence, so I will explain each one in detail later.

     Step 1: Analyze the topic

Before writing an essay, you need to analyze the topic. If you can't do this, you'll end up with a messy sentence.

✔️ Analyze  the nature of the problem

Let's understand the nature of the problem. For example, the approach of solving the "how" problem to the problem asked by "why" does not result in accurate and topical sentences, so analysis of this problem is important and write my essay.

✔️ Give both For and Pro opinions as much as possible

    Should you study English?

For example, suppose you have this problem. I would like to give both opinions on this.

     For

    • Because it is a common language in the world
    • Expand your values and horizons
    • Useful for job hunting and promotion

    Pro (No opinion)

    • It takes too long
    • Difficult to learn for Japanese
    • May cost money
    • There are few scenes where you can practice
    • I rarely use it in Japan

Weigh these and decide for or against yourself. Then, from these opinions, choose two from the opinions of your position and one from the opinions opposite to your position. These are the contents of this paper and write essay for me.

After this analysis is finished, we will start the actual writing work. The structure of each paragraph is also explained at the same time, so even beginners of English can easily understand it.

    Step 2: Write an Introduction

The introduction is an introductory text to the essay. This is the most important point in the essay. Here we clarify your opinion and your position on the issue. Look at the image above.

    ■ Hook

The hook is the first part of the introduction. The role of this part is to get the reader's interest. Therefore, interesting experiences, facts, quotations and anecdotes about the topic are often written. Let's finish within a line or two.

    ■ Position (your standing position)

The role of this part is to clarify your position. Specifically, your opinion on the topic often answers whether you agree or disagree. Let's put it together in one line and write my essay for me.

    ■ Thesis Statement

This part is where you make your point about the topic. It is often a sentence that says, "I think it's OO for the reason of ...".

I have to make two claims. That's because I'll make two paragraphs based on my point in this paper. Ideal if it ends in one line. Keep it in two lines at the longest.

    Step 3: Write Body

This paper is a paragraph that describes the data and facts that form the basis of your claim. There are a total of three paragraphs, and the first two paragraphs (for) provide the information on which to base your claim.

The third paragraph (pro) is written in a style that assumes a negative opinion on your claim and refutes that opinion on your own. It is written as saying, "Oppositions claim 〇〇, but according to the treatise of △△, it is different from the fact ........".

    ■ Topic Sentence

A one-line summary of what you are about to say. Note that this is a summary, so I won't put any examples here.

    ■ Supporting Details (Example)

Write the proof that supports your claim. There are five types of examples: personal experience, examples, facts, opinions, statistics, and citations.

    ■ Conclusion

Paraphrase Topic Sentence. Click here for the paraphrasing method.

    Step 4: Write a Conclusion

The conclusion is the part that encourages the reader to reaffirm the information they have written and to agree with their claim.

    ■ Restate Thesis

This reiterates the Thesis Statement I wrote in the introduction. Of course, it is a paraphrase.

    ■ Summarize Arguments

Here is my claim. Write in the form of "I think it is 〇〇 based on these things." Basically, it's OK if you paraphrase the topic sentence of this paper.

    ■ Ending

I encourage readers to make suggestions and agree with the results and conclusions of their own opinions.
