In just a few steps, I can be attacked by anyone who has a full 99 combat stats. This includes players with RuneScape gold an arsenal of rocktails, overloads and other types of weapons and armor, as well as a yak full of rocktails. Perhaps I can be a mage in a match, but once the other person is able to benefit from potions and beasts of burden I'm severely outclassed.
This isn't to say that I'm not complaining. While I'd like to put in the effort to make it more competitive, I don't see any monetary gain. PKing someone would net me, if I'm fortunate, some drygores.
If I come across anyone with skulls, I'll smash their prayers and, the most important part, actually kill them. I don't have the chaining ability, so they will likely outdo me in this space. I'd rather sit at KK with some friends and kill it 30 times in 90 minutes, and take my drygore from the other. PvP is my favorite aspect. I love the excitement of PvP however that's not what I miss about PvM. This is a fantastic question and I would be interested in hearing other answers.
