For women from Eastern countries, there are a number of mandatory clothing requirements.
The outfits can bare maximum hands and face. Everything else is the most severe taboo! However, in some countries there are outfits from under which only the eyes are visible.
Clothes should not be tight-fitting. The arguments, I think, are obvious - any tight-fitting outfit creates an additional touch of sexuality, and after all, an oriental woman should only belong to her man. However, these days, designers are becoming more and more bold in creating Muslim elegant dresses and allow them to add elements that fit the waist. However, the outfit should not emphasize any other female appetizing roundness!
A wardrobe item should not be flashy, vulgar or transparent. It is for this reason that the prevailing color in the clothes of women from the East is black. This makes them appear less noticeable. Any translucent fabrics (like silk or chiffon) can only be used to decorate the product. Although, again, modern designers are doing everything possible to equate a Muslim woman with a European one as much as possible, offering bold and bright colors for modest outfits. Often these are Muslim abaya dresses as well as wedding dresses.
The clothing of a Muslim lady should not be the least bit like a man's.
