This is partly due to the Mythic Paths system, with which player can take over powerful new roles such as the Lich.
While the Lich Undead can raise, he can do this with different non-playable characters and bosses. That's right - you can have a whole group of zombie bosses at hand and call. The creative director Alexander Mishulin recently explained in a Reddit Ama: Lich will be able to get powerful Undead from some NPCs and bosses in the course of the game. It can use as a group member, but of course replaces the companion, and the accompanying quest and / or joke are missing.
It will still not be excluded from accompanying content as they can change the group and take the companion to his search. There is more uses for these undead as just a substitute for the companion.
Of course, when unlocking a mythical path, it is not just about achieving a certain point in history. When asked if Mythic Paths are aligned, Mishulin said it was difficult to answer as the system is still in development. However, he noticed: Our current idea is that you need to meet certain tasks or tasks to choose a specific mythical way. And these usually pull their orientation in the direction of a specific alignment.
To become lich, you have to do some evil actions, and that will draw your orientation on evil. And if you become one, you will still be able to make decisions that are good or evil, but some of the decisions that are only available to the Lich will be angry. We think if you evolve as Lich and make many good decisions, you will be able to get a neutral Lich, but no good ly.
The narrative designer Arseniy Krymov then noticed: They choose their mythical way, but some decisions must first be unlocked - some are simple, others require trouble.
PathFinder: Wrath of the Just is currently published in June 2021 for the PC. You can see some early recordings from Pax East 2020 (Mishulin has also confirmed that the user interface is currently in place in this build).
