As we get closer to the release of NBA 2K22, we've learned very little about the features that will be included in the game. There have only been screenshots of players and a few tidbits about the MyCareer mode so far. However, NBA 2K's gameplay director Michael Wang dropped some major beluba bombs ahead of the game's release, revealing important details about NBA 2K22.
Michael Wang took to Twitter in the middle of the night to answer some of the most pressing questions from fans about NBA 2K22. In a nutshell, this is what Wang revealed.
NBA 2K22 and what we can expect from it
When compared to the previous year, the current and next-generation players perform much more similarly on the court.
Shooting Shot aiming is no longer available, and this year's results are "more predictable."
You do not have to have a high overall ranking to be a perimeter threat, but timing is still important. The vibration shot cue has been removed. Even when the shot meter is turned off, players receive an advantage. There is a new shot meter available. The steady Shooter badge has been removed.
Control-wise, NBA 2K22 will be more similar to NBA 2K20 when it comes to dribbling.
For example, in 2K20, holding the pro stick always results in a shot. However, there are some new moves and combos that you'll want to learn.
Animations are a type of visual storytelling.
New seasonal animation content drops are only available to MyPLAYERS. The goal is to keep the game fresh all year long and to encourage players to use signature moves that they might not otherwise use. However, there will still be a wide variety of moves to choose from when the game first launches. Some of the seasonal content will be exclusive, but the actual on-court gameplay signatures (shots and moves) will remain in the game once it is released. More animations based on size and ability will be released in the near future. More NBA 2K22 MT will be added in the future. The intention is to release the same signature animations on both generations.
PLAYERS IN MY PLAYER
On next-gen, you will not lose your 99 overall; however, the 99 overall will fluctuate on current-gen. Wang also stated that NBA 2K22 MT Coins for the film will be released shortly. His courtside report will also include additional information about the newly revealed gameplay details, he stated.
