Damaged by a terrible earthquake in 1960, Agadir has rebuilt to rise from its ruins as Morocco's main coast resort. Rebuilt into a neat grid of residential suburbs and extensiveboulevards, the town feels strangely bereft of the sort of busy life often related with Moroccan cites. Its lure, on the other hand, lies in its wide sandy beach, which is more sheltered than many other Atlantic beaches.
