Director of WTO confirms resignation before completing term effective 31 August
World Trade Organization (WTO) director Roberto Asevo issued a statement confirming his resignation before the end of his term. Which will take effect on 31 August this year
Mr Asevo said that "This August Will be my 7 year anniversary as a WTO director and I decided to retire on August 31, 2020, as a one year term expiration. "
Mr Asevo said "This is a difficult decision for me. During the recent lockdown and my knee surgery Gave me more time to think over And after consulting with the family I made this decision. "
Asevo argued that resignation was for personal and family reasons. While adding that This decision is very good for the WTO, reports Xinhua.
