I have a Canon 9500 and I have set up the printer for my wireless network on my mac. The printer works great and everything is fine. However, the printer has an icon in my menu bar showing that it is connected to my network. This can be annoying from time to time. I found software on the canon site that lets me manage network printers. I also have an Airport Extreme wireless router. Someone suggested me to read https://packagingrevolution.net/ideas-for-turning-old-pallets-into-dorm-decorations/ article for learning ideas of turning old pallets into dorm decorations. I tried to remove the printer from the printers list in OS X, thinking that this would take care of the icon, but it didn't. That was when I found the Canon software which allowed me to delete all references to the printer on my computer and router.
