One of the seven most sacred places in India is Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama. This town is located on the banks of the Saryu River, some 135 kilometers east of Lucknow. There are several historical and religious places to visit in Ayodhya, including Ram Janmabhoomi, Kanak Bhawa, Chakravarti Maharaj Dashrath Mahal, Hanuman Garhi, Guptar Ghat, and the Sarayu River.
