CLEVELAND-- The Cleveland Indians certainly gave the Friday night crowd their money's worth as the Tribe Kolten Wong Jersey decimated the Oakland A's 10-4. Since the start of 2016, the Indians are now 7-1 against Oakland at Progre sive Field. Cleveland managed to go 4-of-10 at the plate with runners in scoring position, and also left just two runners stranded on base en route to 10 total hits. With the win, the Tribe has now won five straight and eight straight at home. Here are three takeaways from the win.1. Cookie's return Carlos Carrasco made his return to the lineup on Friday night in his first outing since June 16. If you need a refresher, Carrasco has been on the DL since that game against the Twins with a right elbow contusion after being hit with a line drive in his throwing arm. Vince Coleman Jersey He made one rehab start in Akron before being activated for Friday night's contest. The right-hander went 5 1/3 innings against Oakland, giving up seven hits, three earned runs and striking out seven. He threw 96 pitches, 65 for strikes. The only major bumps in his outing came in the first and second innings when he gave up leadoff homers to Dustin Fowler and Matt Olson to account for two of his earned runs. The only other run Carrasco allowed was on an RBI single from Fowler in the fifth inning. Carrasco relied heavily on his curveball during the start, and got 12 strikes swinging and 12 looking with that pitch. "Early on a couple of fastballs got hit, but he kept it in check and really found his breaking ball," manager Terry Francona said. "There was a couple innings there where he threw maybe six, seven, eight in a row, but they were so good." In the end, the outing was enough for Carrasco to earn a standing ovation from the crowd. With seven strikeouts, he Tommy Edman Jersey now has 999 for his career, and could become the 12th player in franchise history to hit 1,000 career strikeouts in his next outing. 2. So extra The Indians had a three-run third inning that got them back into the ball game after falling behind 2-1. Jose Ramirez came to the plate with two on and smacked a two-run double to right field to give the Indians their first lead of the game, 3-2. With that double, Ramirez notched his 50th extra-base hit of the season. As a result, he and Francisco Lindor became the first pair of Indians teammates in franchise history to each have 50 or more extra-base hits in the first half of the season. They are the fifth duo to do so in MLB history, and the first since 2004. Both Lindor and Ramirez notched two hits on Friday, giving them their 36th and 23rd multi-hit games of the season, respectively. Scroll to Continue3. Seventh inning fun The seventh inning was certainly the exclamation point of this Tribe win, as they put up four Nolan Arenado Jersey runs in the frame. The first run came on a JRam RBI single. With Edwin Encarnacion up to bat, Ramirez stole second base. As Oakland catcher Jonathan Lucroy tried to throw him out, it paved the way for Francisco Lindor to steal home from third for the second run of the inning. "He's just a pretty special player," Francona said of Lindor's steal. "Because that's not something where we just tell him you're going. But if he reads it good enough, it's just pretty special because that's not as easy as he made it look." Encarnacion followed that up with an RBI double, and was himself plated on Bob Gibson Jersey a sacrifice fly from Yonder Alonso, giving Cleveland their 10-4 lead. For the game, the top half of the order (Lindor, Michael Brantley, Ramirez and Encarnacion) was phenomenal, going a combined 8-for-13 from the plate with seven RBI. Encarnacion, Ramirez and Lindor have also combined for 175 RBI this season, and with nine games left before the All-Star break, the three have already combined for the most first-half RBI by an Indians trio since 2007.
