CHICAGO-- The Cleveland Indians wrapped a road series win over the Chicago White Sox Sunday afternoon with a 9-7 victory. Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco pitched seven innings of one-run baseball. Carra sco started the game with the comfort of a four run cushion as the offense got things going early, scoring in both the first and second innings. The offense added what were thought to be unneeded insurance runs in the the seventh and eighth innings before the White Sox rallied back. Austin Riley Jersey Cleveland continues their road trip Monday night when the Indians take on their in-state rival the Cincinnati Reds. Continue on for three takeaways from the Indians 9-7 win over the White Sox.1. Yandy's Day Cleveland Indians DH Yandy Diaz had one of his best days in a Cleveland Indians uniform. It came at a perfect time Josh Tomlin Jersey as the Indians are looking for someone to try and fill the void left by the absence of Edwin Encarnacion, who they placed on the disabled list this weekend. Diaz had three hits on the day including two RBI. Diaz has hit the ball well this season when given the opportunity, as his season average is currently over .500. If Diaz is able to continue to get on base during Encarnacion's absence then he may end up fighting for a spot on the Indians postseason roster when the time comes.Scroll to Continue2. Carrasco's outing Carlos Carrasco was never really in danger of losing this game, thanks to very generous run support. R.A. Dickey Jersey His lone blemish came in the first inning when Yolmer Sanchez scored via an RBI grounded courtesy of Daniel Palka. On the afternoon, Carrasco allowed one run and three hits over seven innings of baseball. He struck out nine White Sox batters and didn't walk anyone all day. The win gives him 14 on the season which ties the second most of his career (2015.) His career high in wins came just last season when he had 18 wins. This could be a fun subplot to follow the rest of the season.3. Bullpen blues continue The Cleveland Indians bullpen has struggled much of the season, and unfortunately Sunday was more the same. Adam Cimber relieved Carlos Carrasco to start the eighth inning, and things went south. The White Sox hit two HRs off of Cimber in the eighth inning Danny Santana Jersey to bring the Indians lead down to 9-3. Then the ninth inning started, and Dansby Swanson Jersey the White Sox bats quickly started a rally with three hits and two runs on Dan Otero before Cody Allen came in and allowed a one-out, two-run triple. Those runs were charged to Otero as Chicago seemed to have his number from the get-go. After the White Sox tasked Allen with a triple, he was able to strike out the final two hitters. The bullpen was lucky the offense hit like they did Sunday, because they almost let one slip away on the road.
