What is an operator's job?
- Places material on the working field of the machine tool;
- Enters commands into the
CNC to produce the desired part;
- Makes adjustments to individual machine components as required;
- Carries out machine maintenance;
- Controls the quality of parts and measures them using special metrology equipment.
An experienced operator is able to operate five machines at the same time. Working with more than one machine tool is especially relevant to serial production.
What are the duties of a machine tool operator?
- Reading drawings;
- Working out an algorithm for machining the product;
- Selecting tools according to technical cards;
- Creation of NC for the part;
- Checking accuracy characteristics of the machine tool;
- Makes adjustments to the machine and passes them on to the operator;
- Seeks out and corrects deficiencies in machine
operation.
