Hulu with Live T.V.

  • Since its launch back in 2007, Hulu has established itself as one of the most versatile and affordable streaming services out there. Now, it is owned by Disney; the platform has expanded with various subscription plans and offers plenty of live channels as part of its Hulu+ Live T.V. cable replacement plan.

If you’re looking to subscribe to Hulu for the first time or are considering upgrading to your plan, we’ve got all the details. Here’s all you need to know about Hulu and Hulu with Live T.V.

    WHAT IS HULU?

Hulu is one of the most leading streaming services in the market right now, providing thousands of hours of live and on-demand movies and series with and without ads. Various subscription plans, add-ons, bundles, a Live T.V. option, and curated channels and live sports coverage.

    WHICH DEVICES SUPPORT HULU?

The latest versions of Hulu and Hulu with Live T.V. are available on most devices; some products still feature the “classic” Hulu app, meaning you won’t have access to Live T.V., the premium add-on. With that in mind, here is a complete list of devices currently compatible with Hulu in some capacity. Choose -on or new features.

Live programming is unavailable while PlayStation 3 and Xfinity X1 T.V. Boxes support the Hulu app and include Hulu streaming library. However, unlike Xfinity devices, PlayStation 3 provides access to various add-ons.

Users can also use the classic Hulu app—which doesn’t support Live T.V. and a selection of premium add-ons and new features—on multiple devices. These include Apple T.V. (3rd generation), Samsung T.V.s and Blu-ray players, L.G. T.V. and Blu-ray players, Sony TVs, Blu-ray players, Roku and Roku Stick, TiVo, and Vizio T.V.s.

    WHAT IS STREAMING ON HULU?

Both the ad-supported and ad-free tiers of Hulu feature an impressive content library of fan-favorite movies and T.V. series, Hulu Originals, and new episodes from F.X. on the Hulu series. Like YouTube T.V. and Sling TV, Hulu+ Live T.V. also provides subscribers with region-specific programming news, entertainment, a roster of live, and sports.

    HULU + LIVE T.V.

Along with the Live tier, Hulu also offers a collection of live channels, including breaking news, sports coverage, and current shows. Available channels slightly differ depending on where you live, with channels available in most locations including ABC, Fox, NBC, TNT, USA, SYFY, CBS, The C.W., TCM, Lifetime, and CNN.

HULU PROFILES, ACCOUNT LIMITS, AND PARENTAL CONTROLS

All three tiers of Hulu allow simultaneous streaming to 2 devices and up to 6 different profiles per account. The Unlimited Screens add-on allows customers to stream on an unlimited number of devices at home, plus up to 3 for an additional fee.

Unfortunately, that add-on is only available to subscribers of Hulu with Live T.V. or Hulu with Live T.V. plan (no ads) and is restricted when watching content through one of the premium network add-ons. It means viewers sharing an account can only stream Premium Add-on content from a total of 5 screens at once.

Regarding parental controls, Hulu gives customers the ability to create a Kids profile, ensuring that viewers using that profile can only search and view kid content available in the Kids Hub. Also, you can contact Hulu to adjust the age setting for the entire account, which will block mature content in all profiles associated with the account.

    HULU ON-DEMAND

Hulu’s on-demand media library features a rotating roster of shows and classic movies from networks like CBS, ABC, FOX, ESPN, AMC, NBC, F.X., Crunchyroll, 20th Century, and Disney, including an entire run of series like The Mindy Project and Modern Family.

The platform also has an award-winning lineup of Hulu Original and limited series. The most famous Hulu Originals are The Handmaid’s Tale, Remy, Pen15, Shrill, The Great, Nine Perfect Strangers, and Reservation Dogs. Many trending limited series are currently playing on Hulu, including Little Fires Everywhere, Normal People, and The Act.

    TRY HULU FOR FREE!

By signing up for a Hulu free trial, Hulu encourages potential customers to try out its service for free for a month or a week, depending on which plan you choose. If you select to try the ad-supported tier or the Hulu tier without ads through Hulu’s free trial, you’ll get one month of the service free of charge. If you choose Hulu with the Live T.V. option, your free trial will last for a week.

    WHERE IS HULU AVAILABLE?

While Hulu is currently available only in the U.S., in current plans, the Disney-owned streaming service is believed to be planning to expand internationally in the future.

Specifically, Hulu’s on-demand media library is available in all U.S. states and territories, plus on U.S. military bases worldwide. Hulu + Live T.V. is now only available in the 50 states. Hulu also offers Japan, limiting its content library to users within Japan by checking the I.P. addresses of the devices visiting their website.

In 2021, Disney also began rolling out the Star Streaming Hub within the Disney+ app in countries where Hulu isn’t currently available. The Star brand includes movies and T.V. shows from Disney Television Studios, 20th Century Studios, F.X. Productions, and Searchlight Pictures.

The Star hub is accessible to Disney+ subscribers in Australia, Ireland, Austria, Singapore, Switzerland, Europe, Germany, Italy, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau, and Taiwan. The service is also expected to roll out in an additional 13 countries by Summer 2022.
