Podemos ver na Palavra de Deus pelos menos dois textos objetivos que tratam a respeito (há outros versos que podem ser bem analisados):
"Criou Deus, pois, o homem à sua imagem, à imagem de Deus o criou; homem e mulher os criou." Gênesis 1:27.
Aqui vemos que o ser humano, coroa da criação de Deus, foi feito "à imagem e semelhança do Criador".
Isso indica que não precisa de "enfeites" em seu corpo, pois já foi feito semelhante ao Ser mais perfeito e belo do universo. Fazer algum tipo de marca que mude essa imagem e que traga dor naquilo que é considerado o "santuário do Espírito Santo" (o corpo – ver 1 Coríntios 3:16-17, 6:19-20) é demonstrar um certo descontentamento com a imagem de Deus, desrespeitando-O. O desejo de tatuar o corpo pode ser um indicativo de que a auto-estima precisa ser mais bem trabalhada.
Veja outro versículo a seguir:
"Pelos mortos não ferireis a vossa carne; nem fareis marca nenhuma sobre vós. Eu sou o SENHOR." Levítico 19:28.
Sobre esse texto, assim se posiciona o Comentário Bíblico SDABC, no vol. 1: "Provavelmente se refira a tatuagens (assim traduz a versão da Bíblia de Jerusalém – BJ), costume que em si não é imoral, porém certamente indigno do povo de Deus, pois tende a danificar a imagem do Criador”.
A tradução na “Nova Versão Internacional” apoia a opinião do referido comentário:
"Não façam cortes no corpo por causa dos mortos, nem tatuagens em si mesmos. Eu sou o Senhor".
Do mesmo modo que o apóstolo Paulo, as únicas marcas que deveríamos trazer em nós deveriam ser aquelas em favor de Cristo: "Quanto ao mais, ninguém me moleste; porque eu trago no corpo as marcas de Jesus." Gálatas 6:17.
Se você tem uma (ou mais) tatuagem, não se atormente: Jesus apaga o seu passado. Ao demonstrar arrependimento (Atos 3:19) e aceitação pelos ensinos da Bíblia (Apocalipse 1:3), Deus lhe perdoa (Salmo 32:5) e o (a) considera como se NUNCA tivesse feito tatuagem alguma! (1 João 1:9). O perdão de Deus é maravilhoso e Ele coloca a sua disposição todos os recursos para melhorar a sua auto-estima (Filipenses 2:13) a fim de que consiga se sentir bem (e feliz) sem “desenhos” pelo corpo.
