Patrick Mahomes bobbled the snap
Logan Paulsen Jersey , picked the ball off the turf and threw a laser to Tyreek Hill in the corner of the end zone, giving the Kansas City Chiefs another touchdown on a night full of them.Even the young quarterback's mistakes rarely end up awry. The Chiefs' record-setting quarterback wound up throwing for 358 yards and four touchdowns Sunday night, Kareem Hunt totaled three scores and Kansas City rebounded from a last-second loss in New England by throttling the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 before a boisterous crowd at Arrowhead Stadium."I mean, you always think you're going to have success," said Mahomes, whose 22 touchdown passes in his first eight career games set an NFL record, "but I didn't think it would happen this much."Mahomes was 28 of 39 with his only costly mistake an underthrown interception, though the Chiefs (6-1) were already so far ahead of Cincinnati (4-3) by that point it didn't really matter. He spread the wealth, too, connecting with eight targets. Hill had seven catches for 68 yards and a touchdown, Travis Kelce had five catches for 95 yards, and Demetrius Harris hauled in the other TD catch as the Chiefs piled up 551 yards total offense."We're just rolling," Harris said. "We're unstoppable when it's clicking like that."Meanwhile, the Bengals' Andy Dalton was held to just 148 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception by the NFL's worst defense. Joe Mixon managed only 50 yards rushing."We had a lot of plays," Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said, "where we've got to do better."The Chiefs, wearing their all-red uniforms for the primetime matchup, flexed some rare defensive muscle to open the game
Youth Keanu Neal Jersey , creating a three-and-out for their first forced punt in 17 possessions.Mahomes and Hunt immediately went to work. With their quarterback shredding the Bengals' depleted backfield, and Hunt making the rest of the defense look downright foolish, the Chiefs marched 95 yards for a score. Hunt capped it with a short TD grab, but it was his play immediately before that set social media ablaze.Hunt spun loose from a clutch of Bengals, then hurdled safety Jessie Bates on a 21-yard run ."That was just one of those to get the team going," Hunt said. "You just got to want it. You need touchdowns instead of threes in the red zone. We learned that last week."Mahomes connected with Hunt again early in the second quarter, when the Pro Bowl running back left Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict grasping at air on his way to the end zone. And he answered a TD toss by Dalton with one to Harris as the Chiefs took a 24-7 lead into halftime.Run the ball and protect the lead? Nah.Mahomes opened the second half by hitting Sammy Watkins for 50 yards. And six plays later, Hunt punched it in from a couple yards out for his third touchdown and first on the ground.Ron Parker's pick-6 on the ensuing play gave Kansas City two TDs in 9 seconds, and Mahomes connected with Hill — just after the speedster dropped a touchdown catch — to make it 45-10 in the fourth.By that point, it was hard to tell what was more entertaining — the Chiefs' offense or their crazy touchdown celebrations — because the reality is there were plenty of both.Harris celebrated his score by jumping into a camera well and using it as a foxhole while chucking the football as if it were a grenade. Hill fainted at the foot of an official and got CPR from offensive lineman Eric Fisher after his score, then reeled off a backflip before sprinting to the sideline. The Bengals certainly weren't enjoying it. They got dinged for a pair of personal fouls down the stretch, including a late helmet-to-helmet hit on Hunt by safety Shawn Williams."A lot of season left," Dalton said. "Everything's in front of us. It's just one game."QUOTABLE"That was a great feeling, man," Parker said after his interception return for a touchdown. "That's what I was waiting on my whole career. It was crazy. My daughter asked before the game like, 'Daddy, how come you don't score touchdowns?' So that one was for her."STATS AND STREAKSThe Bengals are 3-16 on Sunday night, losing nine straight. ... The Bengals' A.J. Green had seven catches for 117 yards. ... Here are three in-game matchups to watch carefully. No need to sugarcoat. This is absolutely a must-win situation for the Atlanta Falcons. After a rough season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Falcons have their home opener against a division rival in the Panthers. Both sides are dealing with significant injuries to where neither team can say they have an upper advantage, but nonetheless, two teams in the midst of an Interstate-85 rivalry meet on Sunday. Here are three in-game encounters that will shape the outcome. Falcons Defensive Line vs. Panthers Offensive Line Entering this contest, the Panthers are a walking medical ward on the offensive line with three starters (Matt Kalil, Trai Turner, Daryl Williams) all being declared out for this contest. The only lineman that will be in place on Sunday at his original position will be center Ryan Kalil. So there is plenty of adjustment taking place on the offensive line for Carolina and it is a definite focal point. The Falcons defensive line is relatively healthy going forward and the interior of Grady Jarrett, Jack Crawford, and Deadrin Senat played very well in the season opener. The edge rushers however were not quite to the level that was expected but, to their credit, a bookend tackle tandem of Jason Peters and Lane Johnson will be tough to rush against on any day. Now, the young, athletic duo of Vic Beasley Jr. and Takk McKinley must instill their will against the depleted offensive line and bottle up Carolina quarterback Cam Newton. The athleticism is there as is a golden opportunity against a weakened offensive line. Falcons WR Calvin Ridley vs. Panthers Secondary In his professional debut, rookie wideout Calvin Ridley garnered just two targets and walked away with zero catches. Not the most spectacular of openers but at the end of the day, he isa rookie. The strength of the Panthers defense is on the front end
Womens Andy Levitre Jersey , that is quite known. The secondary may not be placed in a class of the elite but they are an average group of defenders at worst. Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsRidley will see the likes of James Bradberry, Donte Jackson, and Captain Munnerlyn throughout the game and the rookie is talented enough to hold his own against them. Last week against Dallas, the Panthers allowed Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to complete 12-of-14 passes for 101 yards in all zones between the line-of-scrimmage and 10 yards. Ridley’s most effective routes ran during the 2017 season at Alabama were digs, slants, and crossing routes. The Falcons are looking to get Ridley more involved in week two after a quiet opening week. Ridley may have an opportunity to work the short passing game for the Falcons in this one with all eyes wandering on the presence of Juilo Jones. Falcons Linebackers vs. Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey McCaffrey is a Swiss-Army knife for the Panthers offense and will be utilized in a variety of ways. In the pass catching department, McCaffrey has been effective with wheel routes, flat routes, hook routes, angle routes, so on and so forth. Against Dallas, McCaffrey totaled 16 touches for 95 yards which shows an emphasis on putting the ball in the hands of the second-year running back out of Stanford. As we all know, the Falcons defense will be without star linebacker Deion Jones, who would be the perfect remnant to McCaffrey’s usage. So it will be on the agendas of linebackers De’Vondre Campbell and Duke Riley to corral McCaffrey. He will get his touches but those will have to be limited, as taking his big play ability away from the Panthers offense limits them as a whole.
