Similiar to how in ArcheAge there is complex sailing and amazing instrument playing system, what are some nice and unique features, not neccesarily big or anything, which FFXIV has to offer? In my opinion, I want to share the most fun and unique features of Final Fantasy XIV.
I like being able to do everything on one character, but I also wish i twas a lot more alt-FRIENDLY. It feels anti-alt in a lot of ways which seems just as detrimental to me. I'd love for some cosmetic things and housing (which they said they'll work on) to be account wide.
When I make a character, it has a theme to me. A race, a history, an aesthetic, a role in groups, etc. I also roleplay. So I like each character to be its own thing.
It can be punishing doing the MSQ or unlocking raids or farming the same pets/mounts/glams. They added the MSQ skip, which is nice and has actually let me enjoy a lot of alts more thoroughly, but I do wish there was something in-between.
The ability to trade funds/items to myself, for one, lol. I get around this by having my charas in their own FC with my husband's charas so we can trade things on all our charas.
I definitely understand people who want to do everything on one chara, but I just can't really get behind that for myself. It's not as fun. I guess to me aesthetic is just also part of the glam end-game. I want my golden Raen lady with her golden Kirin and topaz carbuncle and glams. Then I want my grey male Miqo'te Keeper with his bow and Fenrir, etc.
On the bright side, I've gotten really good at pony farming LOL.
But the Mogstation is alt enemy number 1. A glam for one chara should not cost half as much or MORE as a month sub. I would prefer all costs be a little higher than the few dollars but be account wide than to nickle and dime me if I happen to play more than one chara. I know the items are optional, but they put a lot of neat things there that can't even be obtained in game - or if you played after a holiday was released.
For instance, they could leave old holiday items in-game to be obtained ALONGSIDE new items every year. I don't know why it has to be one then done. Some mounts are already account-wide, but not all. The only account-wide mini pets are the ones from like the art books/cds.
Sincerely, alt-o-holic who wants to play all her bazillion charas and not pay tons more money to be able to do so. I'm not opposed to working hard for my things for each alt, even if I wish they were account wide so I could stop farming Ifrit LOL.
But with the current system, I only have a few options: buy nothing at all, buy emotes/glams/pets selectively, or give into my addiction and buy everything every time it comes out for each character on my roster. (Gets pricey if you and your spouse play, too.) If your money is not enough to buy Final Fantasy XIV Gil, then you need to take a look at FFXIV4GIL.COM.
This might not be the most fun but is somewhat unique among mmos and I greatly appreciate it.
