Twenty years on from the timeless F1, the McLaren P1 is released to world in all its production ready glory.
McLaren Automotive and motoring world legend Ron Dennis revealed the production ready P1 hypercar at Geneva 2013. Where to start with this Formula 1 inspired tour de force? Well it has 903bhp, will do 0-62mph in under 3seconds, 0-124mph in under 7seconds, 0-186mph in 17seconds, run on to 217mph limited top speed and cost in the region of £866,000. All of these numbers are on par with its arch rival from Ferrari and we cant wait to them do battle on road and racetrack. It won't be one to take your grandmother along to.
Its 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 boasts 727bhp and 664lf ft on its own but is combined with an 176bhp electric motor at the touch of a wheel mounted button. The P1 can claim to be environmentally aware, with a sub-200g/km CO2 figure and can drive 10miles on 'leccy power alone. Other tech includes a DRS system which -- operated via wheel mounted buttons - reduces rear wing by 23deg for better acceleration, just like Jenson Button's weekend wheels.
