I know that rust does not really affect braking performance unless it is on the pad contact surface of the rotor, but let's face it - rusty rotors are kind of ugly - especially if you can see them through your alloy wheels. You can paint the non-contact surface of the rotor before install but that is kind of a pain. Some rotor manufacturers have decided to give some help here.. Thanks!
