Quite a number of people have asked for a video on Kirito's Elucidator, and finally I got around to doing it. In the video I explain a few characteristics that generally make swords practical (especially fine-tuning the balance) and comment on whether or not this design could be turned into a functional weapon without having to resort to magic.
Also a few comments about obsidian as a sword material, since that's what the blade supposedly is, according to the Sword Art Online Wiki. And of course the obligatory reminder that a longsword is in fact not a short one-handed type of sword.
