I kinda see this narrative as the tale of the past great pirate era. Kinda the way Naruto was set in the last great ninja age. If they do eventually finish One bit and start up a continuation collection, following the vast majority of Animal Crossing Items for sale queries are answered, I would imagine its place in the time of piracy coming to an end. All very much enjoy the manner Boruto is set in a universe where ninjas are becoming scarce.
Rather I really hope they just take the existing personalities and make a series of"what happened elsewhere in the world" throughout the primary story, and only use that as an opportunity to flesh out the rest of the planet.
The longer the story travels the more I get the feeling that something potentially sketchy is upward with Shanks. The Gorosei item is a huge question mark of course. A former Roger celebrity who may or may not understand the fact of the planet getting an emperor but refusing to pursue the crown or even the poneglyphs. He seems to want peace and liberty and just became an emperor in order to chill, just throwing his weight around to stop unnecessary slaughter of innocents, but as we know more about the emperors and also the government the longer his place in this world starts to feel completely suspicious.
Sketchy maybe, but I seriously doubt Shanks is wicked. Personalky I think Roger and Shanks are equally chaotic great, more about the disorderly with Shanks approaching neutral chaotic. Neither are revolutionaries, and Shanks in particular may feel as though he's not worthy to be Roger's successor. If it ties in to the Will of D, I can imagine why.
I still am not sure about the latest Shanks panel, from the Gorosei. My only guess is that Shanks includes a great deal of admiration as he doesn't actively cause death and destruction like the other Yonko; maybe Shanks can also be low key gate maintaining Raftel and the WG isn't going to mess with him while he's busy doing that. The WG wasn't leading a manhunt following the retired Roger Pirates after all
I don't think he is bad, I just think he knows more than we do and contains some schedule that we can not understand yet which would outwardly seem pretty'bad'. Like he needs to beg with the World Government to maintain the secrets of the ancient kingdom secure because he's afraid of the chaos and destruction it would lead to, due to his affection for peace. Whereas Luffy- he's got a fantastic heart, but frankly he isn't a cheap Animal Crossing Bells spectacularly moral individual. He broke a number of the planet's worst offenders from Impel Down without another thought as they were helpful to him. He's a pirate. He is fundamentally not an excellent individual by the conventional standards, unlike Shanks, therefore he doesn't care about throwing the world into chaos.
