I wouldnt argue that EOC was the issue, it was Jagex implemented it then added 101 band-aid answers that forced it into a complete mess of a launching. Should you plat RuneScape is excellent. The designers made the best of this combat system following makes EOC fun to play and the bosses and monsters that came with. However, at start they tried to make to that can you buy runescape gp created people who liked the upgrade feel unsatisfied and totally axed the system. If Jagex had the insight they have today with the battle system, I feel just like EOC wouldnt happen to be so buggered in the start and if they actually made it clear with development diaries and allowed more player interaction other than simply"show case" machine less players wouldnt of felt betrayed.
RS3 and EOC isnt as bad and OSRS would have you think, you need to jump through the incredibly jumbled beginning of RS3 and you'll be set. "too interesting", a great deal of the things polled and suggested are just electricity - or xpcreep that isn't qualitatively more interesting to play than the existing items we have (sometimes worse), often just contributing to imbalance or even creating matters simpler to appease the people who dislike the content rather than those that enjoy it.I don't think even the men and women that are nostalgic about 2007 are inclined to oppose content which truly enhances gameplay. I believe most players agree that the newest PvM is a massive upgrade concerning quality of game play.
I also believe EOC wasn't clearly"the problem", since it arguably was very good in the end (it only took some time). The battle system and PvM on RS3 is quite alive and seems as much as I can understand to be more nuanced and"enjoyable" compared to OSRS. It was a success that is decent, I believe RS3 would have been at a worse state without EoC. As I remember it, eoC was more like the final straw for many. The people I played with and myself had sort of lost faith and did not see a future for RuneScape, when EoC did not seem great at once there was little motivation to basically learn a new game with the same devs and a match that brought on many of the very same problems and frustrations.
Some might disagree because playing osrs efficiently is not a similar sort of expertise to the exact same kind of fun we had growing up, but I do not believe that is really a fair point, that is just a fact of us growing up and learning how to find guides and learn things fast, and is not a fault of RuneScape. If the younger versions of ourselves must see a few of the cool stuff we've got in OSRS we would have been hyped.Man I overlook dungeoneering. And no, raids and gauntlet doesnt feel the same. 5 ppl enjoying those dungeon floor and moving in with nothing. U didnt even require ppl u knew, these 2-3 particular dung words were mostly packed, becoming judged with ur kc crap we have today, maybe not all this efficacy and ppl would help out. Got around lvl 103 b4 EOC occurred.
IMO it's pointless to compare the two. OSRS has diverged and is it's own game now, no need to compare it to the stuff that was great in it's own right. Pre-EOC had a few of the articles of all time in my opinion using Dungeoneering and Nex. I believe that they're both great, pre-eoc since it was and runescape money making 2020 that is present. I like them both for different reasons. The whole purpose was to return where a right was left by rs3 and make a left. After free trade removed it was mostly downhill. Now we must pick and gone a completly different route and RuneScape is bigger than ever. RuneScape was better than pre eoc just a couple years after release. Some may disagree and say it was far better from the beginning but there was a clear absence of content, and you can play for thousands of hours and still have plenty to do wether you merely like pvm or skilling, though skilling is fairly much the exact same but faster.
