NBA 2K22 MT

    This year's effort, called The Long Shadow, is a gigantic disappointment.     The rest of the MyCareer mode is really good if you can ignore the dreadful microtransactions that infest its every corner. The Neighborhood, a free-roam region where you can play pick-up online games and produce character modifications, is now set in Venice Beach. The change of setting is nice, particularly since you spend so much time there. The colors are vibrant, the courts look excellent, and there is something soothing about the cool blue backdrop. I had a lot of fun touring the area, buying new gear for my created player, and participating in pick-up games. As good as it is to explore the more intimate space The Neighborhood provides, it mostly contains the same components from last year's match. It seems different, however there is not much new to do.

    However, naturally, ignoring the microtransactions is simpler said than done, because NBA 2K22 won't let you look away from its monetization train wreck. Everything that you do in MyCareer entails Virtual Currency (VC), from character upgrades to dress purchases and haircuts. Being able to compete at a high level in The Neighborhood requires updated attributes, and while you can eventually earn the VC to buy those for free, it might take a painfully long moment. At least there are a couple of methods to acquire VC, like playing games with your NBA team, meeting daily goals, and in-game endorsements - but it is not enough. It really is a shame that the mode revolves around paid-for currency, since MyCareer has so much potential as a deep create-a-player manner... if just the grinding were somewhat less tedious.

    MyTeam still compels you into deciding between grinding out mundane tasks or shelling out actual money for VC. MyLeague should feel dynamic and living. Instead, even for a big fan of this mode for years, it's beginning to feel like I have been doing the exact same thing for many years without the expectation of moving ahead.

    For instance, MyLeague still does not feature an option to use the WNBA for some reason. Considering that you're able to play a full season with any of the 12 WNBA teams, why can not we continue with a franchise after the first season is finished? As a bandwagon fan of the Seattle Storm, I stay really impressed with what 2K22 MT has done with its WNBA gameplay: The spacing is excellent and players like Sue Bird and Natasha Howard look and play like their counterparts that are real-life. The WNBA even features its own pair of announcers, which is great for an extra change of speed. Not having the ability to play these teams in an internet capability or in MyLeague dampens the excitement over the WNBA's addition.
