  Google Pay is an online payment system that serves as a digital wallet app. It allows cashless transactions to happen. It can be used while shopping online, in-app or in a store. It can also be used for transferring money across users, access tickets for event, save transit cards or obtain discounts from partnered stores.

  There is one problem, however. Google Pay is not accepted as a payment method everywhere.

  Where is Google Pay Accepted?

  It is accepted by millions of stores which accept mobile based payment. It is accepted in selected pharmacies, beauty shops, restaurants, clothing stores and a few supermarkets.

  Google Pay is also accepted by some American transit agencies and quite a few banks - including most of the major US banks. Thousands of financial institutions and banks participating in the network accept it. These days, PayPal and Visa checkout can also be connected to Google Pay.

  It is also accepted in many countries across the globe such as United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Germany etc. In certain countries, however, only some of the features are available.

  How to Find Which Stores Support Google Pay?

  You can easily find where there is acceptance for Google Pay. Stickers are put up on the doors and windows, or signs are displayed at the payment terminal, in stores that accept Mobile Payment or Google Pay. You can either find the contactless payments symbol, or the GPay logo, or both.

  It is also possible to find out where Google Pay is accepted with the help of the app itself. This is the process you should follow:

  • To be able to use your own account first you have to follow the setup process. Add your credit and / or debit cards.
  • Now open your app and visit the section of cards. You can find a floating action button in the color blue (+). Now choose the option "add a credit or debit card". You may choose to add a new card or pick a card that is already there on the file of Google.
  • After setting up your cards, you have to visit the Use Google Pay Nearby section.
  • Open the Google Pay app. Once you scroll down, you can find the "use Google Pay nearby" section on the home screen. You will automatically be displayed by the app all those stores close to your area where Google Pay is accepted.
