A Story of World of Warcraft So FarSee MoreSome WoW fans are asking Blizzard to defer Dragonflight
The release date for World of Warcraft 's next expansion, Dragonflight, is far ahead of what many players expected, with Blizzard recently confirming the expansion's timeline for release in 2022.
That was not news many gamers from the game's communities were hoping to hear. At the time, when Blizzard announced Dragonflight in April it was careful not to offer any release date or date instead telling players that it would arrive in the event that it was released.
The players aren't sure what they should consider about this. On one hand, the community is keen to move past the disappointments of Shadowlands and get back to Azeroth proper. On the other hand, given the late public announcement about the new expansion, and the fact that alpha testing for Dragonflight has yet to start on the game's public test realm (but is likely to start very soon) Players are worried that with a 2022 release date being too soon. A large segment of the community asking Blizzard to postpone Dragonflight and give it time and announce the expansion around the beginning of 2023.
For sure, an alpha release that lasts less than six months, beta testing, beta testing, pre-patch (which is typically several weeks) and the expansion buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold release may seem like a very tight time frame. It is not, however an entirely realistic timeframe as users from the public have pointed out on Reddit.
