The 23-year-old has had an up-and-down first season, however, he has been struggling in recent weeks. Smith completed 9-of-18 passes for 79 yards with just one interception on Sunday . He was substituted for Matt Simms. Smith has already thrown 19 interceptions this season which is the highest number in Madden NFL 24. New York, however, remains in contention for the playoffs and it is expected to give him a chance to get back on course. There was a bit of controversy Sunday night when at the conclusion of the game , a referee mistakenly signaled a first down and then the chains were moved. The chains were reversed the following play and it transformed into fourth down.
