    Panch Kedar refers to the five sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in the Garhwal chardham yatra region of Uttarakhand, India. These temples hold great religious significance and are associated with various legends and traditions. According to Hindu mythology, these temples were established by the Pandavas during their search for Lord Shiva to seek his forgiveness after the Kurukshetra war in the Mahabharata. The five temples of Panch Kedar are:

    1. Kedarnath: This is the most prominent of the Panch Kedar temples, located at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level. The temple is situated near the Mandakini River and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are considered to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva.

    2. Tungnath: This temple is the highest of the Panch Kedar temples, located at an elevation of char dham yatra 3,680 meters (12,073 feet). Tungnath is also the highest Shiva temple in the world. It is believed that the arms of Lord Shiva appeared here.

    3. Rudranath: Situated at an altitude of 3,559 meters (11,677 feet), Rudranath is where the face of Lord Shiva is worshipped. The temple is surrounded by lush rhododendron forests and alpine meadows, offering a serene and chardham tour packages picturesque setting.

    4. Madhyamaheshwar: Located at an altitude of 3,490 meters (11,450 feet), this temple is where the navel (mid-abdomen) of Lord Shiva is worshipped. The trek to Madhyamaheshwar offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks.

    5. Kalpeshwar: This temple is the lowest of the Panch Kedar char dham yatra 2025 temples, situated at an altitude of 2,200 meters (7,217 feet). It is unique because it is the only temple of the Panch Kedar that remains open throughout the year. Here, the hair (Jata) of Lord Shiva is worshipped.
