Role, Types and Benefits of Nanofertiliser

  • In the modern farming method, fertilisers play a vital role in agriculture. Following this, the government is also contributing to and promoting organic fertilisers in agriculture to enhance productivity, improve soil health, and make the land more fertile, including the promotion of Nanofertilisers. It's a new generation of modern fertilisers that supply nutrients in the soil in a controlled manner. They have a size of less than 100 nanometers, allowing them to dissolve easily in soil.

    Different types of Nanofertiliser

Nanofertilizers are categorised into various types based on their properties, including action, consistency, and nutrient composition. Action-based fertilisers are used to control plant growth and reduce water and nutrient loss. Nutrient-based fertilisers are used for organic growth and are nutrient-loaded. Consistency is used for coating biological products, such as those with a surface coating, to ensure uniformity of the layer.

However, Nanofertiliser has mainly two types: nano-urea and nano-DAP.

Nano Urea (Liquid): It has a size of 20 to 50 nm and contains 80 per cent of the nutrients, resulting in higher nutrient efficiency.

Nano DAP (Liquid): This is a nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)- containing fertiliser for enhancing soil health, with a particle size of 100 nm.
