In all the discussions surrounding the Raiders’ trade for wide receiver Antonio Brown
https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey, one name has been largely absent: Jordy Nelson.Nelson was largely overlooked last season as well, but after a slow start in Oakland, he actually came on strong at the end of last season. He had 38 catches over the last five weeks of 2018, third most in the NFL over that time. Now Nelson will be paired with Brown, at least assuming the Raiders keep him. It would be easy contractually for the Raiders to move on from the 33-year-old Nelson
Womens Derek Carr Jersey , but doing so would only save about $3.5 million in cap space, and it seems more likely that they’ll keep him and see how he does as the No. 2 receiver with Brown on the other side of the field. If Nelson can keep playing as well in Jon Gruden’s offense as he did late last season, with Brown taking away a lot of the defense’s attention, he might just be poised for a big season. The Raiders have had three offensive coordinators the past six years. And as of right now, the only one who is sure to be employed by an NFL team in 2019 is Greg Olson — their once and current OC.Olson was the team’s OC in 2013 and 2014 before being replaced by Bill Musgrave when Jack Del Rio was hired as the new head coach. Musgrave was let go after two seasons in favor of his QB coach
Gareon Conley Jersey , Todd Downing. And Downing was out along with the rest of Del Rio’s staff a seasons later when Gruden came in, bringing Olson on as his OC.When Musgrave was let go, he took the QB coach position with the Denver Broncos and was promoted to Offensive Coordinator midseason when the team fired Mike McCoy. Olson was retained in the OC position last season. Today reports say he has been fired from that position with the hiring of Rich Scangarello to the same position.Downing — who was seen as an OC candidate across the league when he took the position with the Raiders — didn’t even get another QB coach job after the Raiders. He took the tight ends coach position with the Vikings and is reports are that he is not expected to return. It’s certainly possible that Downing turned down offers from the Vikings to take a better one elsewhere. It’s just strange to hear both of the Raiders previous Offensive Coordinators in the news as not returning to the teams with which they accepted positions following being fired by the Raiders. Meanwhile the guy who was first replaced in this circle, will still be employed by the Raiders. The NFL coaching carousel is a strange thing sometimes.Follow @LeviDamien
