The popular Latitude E, D, C, and X series have been superseded by the Dell Latitude series, which has resulted in the first letter being omitted from subsequent model types of the series (such as the Dell Latitude 7480, whose predecessor was the E7470). From the early 1990s up to the C*00 lines, the Latitudes did not belong to a certain "series." Instead, they were classified under the models CP and XP with various modifiers appended to the end, such as XPi and CP M233.
